Hello, world!

Howdy y'all!

    Just an introduction, I've been a history nerd and gamer since I was a lad.  I now have a lad of my own and he's a mini-me.  He's getting to that age where he wants to play games more complicated and skill based than the old Candy Land or Chutes and Ladders, and recently found out about the wargaming hobby through Little Wars TV.  I put together a simple game to introduce him to the hobby using introductory rules by Andy Callan, and he not only enjoyed it, but he beat both myself and my dad in two separate engagements.  I'm hoping that now he has the itch, I can keep him interested in this fascinating hobby as well as introduce him to other types of gaming (Old School D&D, I'm looking at you).

I need to transfer some pictures I took during his first foray, and will do a battle report soon.  I'm also hoping that this blog will help others and potentially connect me with some like minded folks in the Deep East Texas/Western Louisiana area to meet up and game with!
